Again, this is not a bash but to reiterate my points from previous blogs as well as the ridiculous outcome of the voters, Urban Meyer's plea (what public crybaby he was.. Lloyd Carr could have but did not), and the overrating of the SEC..
As stated before:
1) SEC has the greatest depth but that does not equate they are the better conference. They had more teams voted in the top 25... Just for your information, Wisconsin was not even considered into the Top 25 initially.... So there were lots of hype from last year but again, play the game on the field determined their strength and weakness
2) Urban Meyer lost all credentials with me. I do not care if the system is broken but to politicize about their SOS with the conference who happens to be not what they are cracked up to be
3) Voters who voted Florida over Michigan was not only a flip-flopper but let the BS politics of the SEC run its course. NO rematch or not, the voters did not vote the 2nd best team in the country. They had a chance to do that when Michigan lost to Ohio State and did not. They let USC and Florida's game after the bye weeks determine them #2 contenders.. Again, why didn't do that after the Ohio State-Michigan game?
4) Again, not winning the conference does not equate the 2nd place team being better than the other conference champions. It happens in all leagues and levels of sports. So I tell the voters to stop BSing and admit your stupidity and admittance of the lack of understanding what is there. Just cuz you played college football or has some knowledge does not make you an expert and shows in their stupidity in their votes.
Results:
1) Yes, I admit that the lower end of the Big Ten did not fare well
Minnesota lost with Texas Tech miracle comeback
Iowa heart breaker with Texas
Purdue got demolish to Maryland
2) SEC mid/lower tiers did a great job
Alabama close lost to Oklahoma State
Kentucky respectable win against Clemson
South Carolina shootout and definitive win against Houston
Auburn won a close on against Nebraska
Georgia overcomes Virginia Tech
3) But the upper tiers of the Big Ten who happens to play the mid/upper tier SEC
Penn State beat Tennessee! I do not care about ineligibility of their trio receiver. Penn State beat them with an exclamation point! who is the 4th best team and Tennessee is the 5th best in the conference. Again, I remember Big Ten being a weak conference beat a SEC? Where are all the SEC fans now? I remember the BS I hear from the south. And it shows how naive that the SEC plays different style that does not make them better... Give props where it is due..
Wisconsin who played horribly on the second half happens to slow down and stop Darren McFadden (full strength until shoulder injury during the 3rd quarter) won.. Wait, I remember that Arkansas was the SEC West Champion and Wisconsin is over rated by so many voters. What did they do? They beat them! Again, the weakness of the conference really shows in the Big Ten. More like the weakness of the SEC....
4) There are 2 more Big Ten teams left and 2 more SEC teams left with the BCS the last competition between the two conferences
As I watch the Rose Bowl, I had to hand to the voters.... The Rematch not only have the hype but was the true championship game.... Florida, I hope you lose miserably to tell those stupid voters to listen to the public. We are fans and know this game a whole lot more than you voters. I know that if Florida just win, Michigan gets a chance to be co-champion. I doubt it but to see Ohio State to win against Florida will show that West Carolina is Div 1-AA and do not group the MAC conference Ball State to Div 1-AA. They are Div 1-A and they lost close ones to the SEC as well.. So GROW UP voters and stop being idiots
BTW, if Ohio State and Michigan wins, we are going to have 3 Big Ten teams in the top 5!
